On my Leadership Coaching page on this website, I say that a leader is “someone who works with a team, not over a team”. In thinking about that, I mean, truly, someone who works “with” others. A leader is someone who is inclusive, open, accepting, wanting to be connected with others. Therefore, in my mind, it would be impossible to be a true leader in a contemporary leadership role if one is biased or bigoted.
Although the rest of this blog refers to my personal experience of bigotry, I think it’s important for my leaders to read it. It was published recently in the Huffington Post. I’d like to have you look there.
